Technically my group consisted of Ozzy and Joseph, but it was really just Joseph. Throughout this project we both worked really seamlessly and I didn’t run into any issues with him. We evenly distributed the work and picked up almost all the slack that Ozzy left. Altogether, communication between us was smooth and we got a lot of work done. I feel like I could improve in the engineering portion, where Joseph took more of a leadership role in actually doing the construction of the engine. It wasn’t that big of a difference, but I do feel like he did more work than I did and it should have been equal. Overall I would love to have him as a partner again because I feel like we work really well together.
Reading Fahrenheit 451 brought forth interesting connections that were made throughout history. The totalitarian regimes all shared the same basic traits as each other and so did Fahrenheit 451. A lot even had the same specific traits like burning books. I used skills I use in Humanities in this project like making connections and researching with credible sources.
In physics, thermodynamics taught me about phase change and the amount of energy required to change a phase. In absolute zero, there is no more energy, all the molecules stop moving, and all the bonds break. When changing from a solid to a liquid, heat/energy gets put in but it doesn’t change temperature and when it finally changes the molecules are in a freer state. Finally when changing from a liquid to a gas, energy is used again and then more bonds break causing the molecules to be at their freest.
Engineering taught me about the reason why a stirling engine works the way it does. The heat changes the pressure in the air and the molecules expand causing the displacer to move. This pushes
Paragraph 5: Talk about exhibition and your final products. How do you feel about what you had to offer to the group? How would you grade yourself in terms of our 9th grade learning outcomes: work ethic, collaboration, oral communication, written communication, content knowledge? Which learning outcome do you feel you are strong in? Why? Which learning outcome do you feel you need growth in? Why? In this paragraph, make any other connections that you have not already had an opportunity to make, and share any lingering thoughts or questions from the project.
