When it comes to the Renassaince project, each subject had something to do with it. In English I enjoyed creating the artifact from my character. In history I enjoyed learning in depth about Nicolaus Copernicus and how he influenced other people in history. This was reflected in how my character would interact with my peers other characters during exhibition. In math I liked learning how to play the game we chose well enough to demonstrate it to a teacher. In chemistry we were assigned a molecule to study. We had to scale it from its original size up to 2 inches for a key chain. I enjoyed the final product after all the work I put into it. On a scale of 1 - 10 on how challenging this project was, I would say that it was a 5. The most challenging aspect of this project for me was staying on task during exhibition work time. There were countless times when I could have been doing work that would help me or my peers but I would be somewhere else of task. However there were also times when there was no work to be done at all and I would be sitting around off task. It would have helped a lot of the teachers blocked out time to work better instead of just saying that we had all day to do work because people run out of things to do somewhat quickly. My classmates looked over my written piece in class time and gave it critique. Some of which was helpful. An example of helpful feedback came from Libby who told me that it seemed like a bit of a waste of paper. I took this advice and printed the pages double sided. I’m very proud of my written piece due to the amount of work I put into it. The writing inside was something I spent a lot of time on trying to make similar to the actual book Nicolaus Copernicus published. It had to outline the basics of his theory while being short. On the other hand the aesthetics of the book I made took a lot of time too. It took me multiple times to get the tea staining right on it. The first few times the pages ripped and weren’t colored as much as I wanted. It took a lot of time to actually get the pages stained well and keep them together. Because of the time and work I put into my work I am proud of the final product. I’m happy with how I did at exhibition. I stayed in character and I had a lot of parents and family members approach my station and ask about my character. My description of my characters achievements was pretty good and I felt proud of it. Yes I was able to interact with guests in a knowledgeable manner about my character. I described my props and costume along with content about his life.If I could figure out a way to make this project better, I would figure out a way to incorporate chemistry into it better than just soapmaking. I feel confident that I understand the lasting impact of the Renaissance. The intensive amount of time prior to exhibition that we spent studying the Renaissance taught me a plethora of ways the Renaissance impacted the world we know today.
